What should be paid attention to when using LCD?

1. DC voltage should be prevented

The smaller the DC component of the driving voltage, the better. Do not exceed 50mV at the maximum. If excessive DC components are applied for a long time, electrolysis and electrode aging will occur, thereby reducing the life.

2. Should be protected from ultraviolet radiation

Liquid crystals and polarizers are organic substances that will undergo chemical reactions and deterioration under ultraviolet irradiation. Therefore, when assembling a liquid crystal display device, it is necessary to consider whether it is necessary to install an ultraviolet protection filter or other ultraviolet protection methods in front according to its use and use environment. When using it, avoid direct sunlight for a long time.

3. The erosion of harmful gases should be prevented

Liquid crystals and polarizers are organic substances. Chemical reactions and deterioration occur in the environment of harmful gases. Therefore, isolation measures for harmful gases should be taken during use. In addition, after the machine is assembled, do not carry out long-term sealed storage to prevent the plastic case and The concentration of the chemical gas generated by the cleaning agent of the circuit board is too large to damage the liquid crystal and the polarizer.

4. It should be prevented from being pressed by force

The LCD is made of two pieces of glass, only 5 ~ 10um between them, very thin. And the inner surface of the glass is also coated with an orientation film, which is very easy to damage. Therefore, the surface of the LCD screen should not be stressed too much, so as not to damage the alignment layer. In case of excessive pressure during the assembly process or pressing the device by hand, it needs to stand for one hour before powering on. Keep in mind that there must be no drastic temperature changes during power-on. When the device is installed, the pressure should be even, only pressing the side of the device, not the middle, nor tilting.

5. The LCD state will disappear because the segment LCD exceeds a certain temperature range

Therefore, it must be stored and used within the specified temperature range. When the temperature is too high, the liquid crystal state disappears and becomes liquid. The display surface is black and cannot work. Please note that it must not be powered at this time. It can recover itself after the temperature decreases.

If the temperature is too low, the liquid crystal begins to form ice, causing permanent damage. In addition, the LCD will also generate bubbles when stored at the extreme temperature for a long time or subject to vibration or shock.

6. Prevent breakage of segment LCD glass

Because the display device is made of glass, if it is lost, the glass will definitely break, so the design of the whole machine must consider the assembly method and the shock resistance and shock resistance of the assembly.
