5 levels of industrial displays

Industrial display is gaining importance on account of its innovative features which include touch screen; radio frequency identification; ethernet connectivity; scratch & chemical resistant; automatic touch detector; high temperature, shock, and vibration resistant. It offers a huge investment opportunity as it can be leveraged over manual processes and outdated button push technology.

We have segmented the industrial display market into five levels. In the first level, the market has been split by type into rugged, open frame, panel-mount, marine, and video wall.
· Rugged: It is the type of display specifically designed to operate reliably in the harsh industrial conditions and environments which includes extreme temperature, vibrations, and wet or dusty conditions.
· Open frame: It is a bezel-less type of display, its applications include aviation simulators, industrial test equipment, embedded display units and industrial automation panels
· Panel-mount: Enables process control Monitors and are manufactured to meet mechanical tolerance and rigid safety.
· Marine: These types of displays are used in cruise ships, commercial vessels, and shipping vessels, and are designed specifically to withstand use in the harsh marine environment.
· Video wall: it is a type of display having large panel size which is generally applicable for control rooms or other industrial applications.

In the second level, the market has been segmented by application into HMI, remote monitoring, interactive, and digital signage.
· HMI: It is the user interface in a process control or manufacturing system, and it provides a graphics visualization of an industrial monitoring and control system.
· Remote monitoring: It is designed to control large or complex facilities which include power plants, factories, spacecraft, airports, and network operations centers with some degree of automation. It enables the monitoring of industrial plants from a remote device.
· Interactive: It is an application which enables direct communication between the machine and the user.
· Digital signage: It uses technologies which include LCD, LED, and OLED to display content which includes videos, digital images, weather data, text, web page, or streaming media.

In the third level, the market has been segmented by technology into LCD, LED, OLED, and E-paper.
· LCD: Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) is a technology used for displays in smaller computers such as notebook.
· LED: Light-Emitting Diode is a semiconductor device which emits light when an electric current passes through it.
· OLED: Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) is a display technology which uses am organic substance as the semiconductor material in LEDs.
· E-paper: Electronic paper (e-paper) is a display technology that mimics the appearance of ordinary ink on paper.

In the fourth level, the market has been segmented by panel size into up to 14”, 14-21”, 21-40”, and 40” and above.

In the fifth level, the market has been segmented by end-use into Aerospace & defense; Healthcare & Pharmaceutical; Automotive; Chemical; Oil, Gas & Energy; Transportation & Logistics.

· Manufacturing: it is the branch of trade and manufacture based on the processing, fabrication, or preparation of products from commodities and raw materials. This includes all foods, chemicals, textiles, machines, and equipment.
· Mining & Metals: It is the industry dedicated to the extraction and location of metal and mineral reserves around the world.
· Chemical, Oil & Gas: Companies in the oil and gas industry discover reserves at sea or in the ground; operate, build, and maintain the rigs or wells that extract these resources; refine them for use; and then sell or distribute them to utility companies, retailers, or end users. The chemical industry comprises the companies that produce industrial chemicals.
· Energy & Power: The energy sector relates to the producing or supplying energy. The power industry is the transmission, generation, distribution, and sale of electric power to the general public.
· Others: Includes transportation, aerospace, and defense industry.

The industry has further been split by region as follows:
· The North American regional industrial display market includes the U.S. and Canada
· The European regional industrial display market includes the European Union, CIS, and other non-member states
· The Asia Pacific regional industrial display market includes Japan, China, India, Taiwan, Korea, and Australia
· The Latin American regional industrial display market includes countries such as Mexico, Brazil, and other South American countries
· The MEA regional industrial display market includes Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and African countries.
